Purpose of Church on the Road
The Church on the Road (COR), a mobile worship community visiting rural churches that have no ministers, First Nations reserves lacking worship service, and scattered Koreans who hope to worship in their native language, will advance Christianity to adherents of the faith and the public by preaching and delivering teachings online and in-person based on the Reformed Church Doctrine of the Presbyterian Church in Canada.
Background of Establishment
As we all experienced, the worship paradigm has been changed in church tradition in this post pandemic era. Churches should find a new way to reach out to people and draw people’s attention to worship according to the shifted worship environment.

Due to the pandemic, all social sectors have been isolated and were forced to meet online including church’s worship service. For this reason, people became familiar with online service and meetings.
One of the new ways of mission and worship, Church On the Road has been established as a worship community to reach out to people, empty-pulpit churches, and First Nations People in need of gospel and worship service.

Physical location would not be an issue as the worship community worships online, so people can worship together from different places. Further, the worship place would be different every time; people may be interested in where the next worship place would be. As the Church on the Road will provide the nearby scenery along with music and narration of the location, nonbelievers or unchurched people could be interested in this type of worship community.

People may have the mission journey with the worship community together and they can experience the beauty of God’s creation, rural ministry, indigenous ministry, holy places of the Bible, and meaningful places in the Christian history along with the Holy Communion Service.
